Brooklyn Museum Staff Exhibition 2011

Every two years, a group of volunteers at the Brooklyn Museum organize a staff exhibition. All employees, volunteers, and interns are invited to participate. It is a great opportunity to share our creative activities that we pursue outside of work. This will be the third time I will be in the show.

Below is my entry for the staff exhibition. Will get some images of the opening and any non-Museum staff interested in seeing the exhibition, please send me an email.

Greenpoint Open Studios 2010--- Pie Bake Off Fundraiser

Last Thursday, I went to The Diamond (a bar at 43 Franklin street in Greenpoint) for the Greenpoint Opens Studios Pie Bake Off . I walked in and gave a donation, so I could participate in the pie tasting contest. Stupidly, I thought there were only five pies to scrutinize at the back of the bar and cast my vote for my favorite pie too early. But there were really over thirty pies, when you include the backyard/outdoor area.

I ate pie to my heart's content- my favorite was a bourbon pecan pie (see pic below). There are many other events, gallery openings, and the hundred plus open studios. Check out the Web site for more information: http://greenpointopenstudios.org/

Also, the people who organized the GOS are doing an amazing job. I am pretty sure they are still taking donations.
